Gemma López és profesora de Literatura Anglesa al Departament de Filologia Anglesa i Alemanya de la Facultat de Filologia (Universitat de Barcelona). La seva especialitat és la narrativa anglesa contemporània, i ha dut a terme recerca sobre les conexions entre narrativa, subjectivitat i desig en aquest àmbit. És autora del volum Literary Seductions:Subjectivity and Desire in the Works of Angela Carter and Jeanette Winterson, publicat al 2007 per l’editorial Cambria Press (Nova York). També ha publicat, juntament amb Ana Moya, el volum Literatura medieval inglesa (2006, Editorial Síntesis). Ha co-editat els volums Pride and Prejudice: A Novel by Jane Austen (2004, 2009) i Wuthering Heights: A Novels by Emily Brontë (2005). Les seves altres publicacions a revistes es mouen dins l’àmbit de la narrativa anglesa, els estudis culturals, el cinema, i el postestructuralisme.
